History of Autodesk® Revit® MEP

In 1997, Leonid Raiz and Irwin Jungreis , key developers of PTC(Parametric Technology Corporation) hired several software developers and architects and began creating Revit in C++ on the Microsoft Windows platform. In January 2000, the company was given a new name: Autodesk® Revit Technology Corporation and Autodesk® Revit version 1.0 was released on April 5, 2000. The software progressed swiftly, with version 2.0, 3.0, 3.1, 4.0, and 4.1 released in August 2000; October 2000; February 2001; June 2001; November 2001; and January 2002, respectively. In 2002, Autodesk®, best known for its AutoCAD® line of products, purchased Autodesk® Revit, from Massachusetts-based Autodesk® Revit Technologies for $133.
